KNOW what the wind is doing from the beach down the street to anywhere in the world with windAlert!

Kiteboarding, windsurfing, kitesurfing, sailing, surfing, fishing, snowkiting, paragliding, kiting, RC flying,.... heck... paper airplane testing...... no matter what your wind activity is, windAlert is a critical tool for you!

The windAlert app provides wind reports and forecasts on graphs and maps from over 40,000 weather stations globally (and growing!). Search for your wind spot by city, state, country, or even the beach name where you go. Or tap the "Search Nearby" button to see all the wind reports that are closest to you. Tap a spot on the map or in the list to get a detailed graph with complete wind history for the past 6 hours and a forecast going ahead 6 hours. Once you have found the stations that are most important to you, simply add them to your favorites list. Traveling?... or simply have too many stations to see on a single list? WindAlert lets you save lists of stations to separate profiles that you name!

windAlert!!... From your list of favorites, you can configure multiple alerts to give you an automatic pop-up (and sound) when the wind reaches threshold. You can set the threshold based on wind average or gust, time of day, how many alerts you want, etc. The alert will notify you even if the app is closed. Never miss a windy day again!

The weather engine driving windAlert is developed by WeatherFlow who scours the internet to gather all publicly available sources of weather data to create this powerful FREE wind resource. If you know of stations that you think should be in windAlert... let us know and we'll add it!

This application provides location-specific weather service in Hong Kong. Weather information including temperature, relative humidity, rainfall, wind direction and speed, as well as weather photograph collected from nearby weather stations will be displayed. New features in version 2.0 include:

(iv) satellite and radar images;
(v) forecast of major world cities;

Your estimated location provided by iPhone may be deviated from your actual location. Meanwhile, owing to the dissimilarity in altitude and topography between your location and the reporting weather station, weather information displayed may be different from the actual conditions.

If data is not available from your nearby weather stations, data from HKO headquarters and King’s Park weather station will be displayed instead. In such circumstances, the weather information will be displayed in grey colour.

The rainfall data displayed is the total rainfall reported in the past hour provided by the nearest rainguage of your estimated location. Update time of the rainguage data could be different from the update time of other weather information up to 5 minutes.

If the “Weather Photo” option is turned on in settings, real-time (7 a.m. to 9 p.m.) weather photo nearest to your location will be displayed as background image.

If the “Storm Track” option is turned on in settings, a “Strom Track” icon will be displayed when a tropical cyclone is located within the area bounded by 7-36°N and 100-140°E.

세시간 단위로 제공되는 동네 날씨의 경우 동 단위까지 세부 설정이 가능하지만, 주간 날씨의 경우 상위 지역군에 해당하는 정보를 제공하며 일부 대도시 위주로 정보가 제공되고 있습니다.

기상청에서 제공하는 정보에 맞춰서 해당 지역에 맞게 맵핑된 대도시의 주간 정보가 표시되기 때문에 거리 상으로는 가장 가까운 곳이 나오지 않을 수도 있음을 양해 부탁드립니다. (__)

본 어플리케이션은 매우 가벼우면서도 신속하게 가장 필요하고 또 원하는 정보를 제공해드리기 위해 만들었습니다. 부족하지만 실생활에서 유용하게 쓰셨으면 좋겠습니다. :)
