Wind Meter - use your iPhone to estimate wind speed. Wind Meter works by measuring the volume of the wind on your iPhone microphone and converts it into a wind speed reading.
OPERATOR'S MANUAL: When you open the Wind Meter APP the screen will rotate and you must turn the phone around so that the microphone end of the phone now will be facing into the wind and you can read the meter. Simply point the microphone into the wind at a slight angle and push Get Wind! Wait at least 5-10 seconds and push Got Wind! The final reading is the average for the period. The Wind Meter works best if the phone protective cover is removed. If for some reason the application appears to not work, push 'Get Wind' and blow or talk into the microphone end of the phone until the needle moves. This will assure you that the Wind Meter is working. The meter measures winds from 4-28 mph. Please be sure that you have selected the desired unit of measurement. When attempting to determine Wind Meter accuracy, use only natural wind and a commercial grade anemometer for comparison. Due to the necessary installation of a noise dampener, the Wind Meter is most effective in consistent winds. For the same reason, it begins to record wind speeds effectively which are above 5mph.

You can search by city/state or ZIP code or use your current location. Know what the weather is going to be like wherever you are or wherever you are going!

WxRadMap 1.3.1 (Weather Radar Map) provides easy access to 155 NEXRAD Doppler radars across the U.S. including Alaska, Hawaii, Guam and Puerto Rico. Version 1.3 now adds over 2500 weather stations for you to browse. Version 1.3.1 adds a much improved National Mosaic View (higher resolution and more accurate).
WxRadMap is simple to use, and it remembers all of your radar settings such as location, zoom, radar type, animation, map type, etc... so there's no need to buy a different radar app for each city. This app has them all, and it will resume where you left off.
WxRadMap offers up to 12 frames of animation showing about one hour's worth of storm movement. It's great for any type of travel. Keep up-to-date on what you might run into (or avoid). Current Temperature is simple and to the point. Open the app and it will detect your current location (or you can manually enter a zip code). Your current temperature and conditions are displayed in the application. Once you exit the application, the current temperature will be pushed as a badge icon once every hour. There's no longer the need to open a weather app to find out the current temperature, simply look at the Current Temperature icon and know what the temperature is.

Average speed of a "Primary surface seismic wave (fastest)" is about 1 to 5 miles/second. Assuming the fastest wave speed, within a 300 mile radius, this application warns you a minute ahead and lets you prepare instead of panic.
